Tell us about your PROGRAM

We have a well-established infectious diseases research fellowship program that has a focus on antimicrobial resistance and stewardship research.

What makes your program UNIQUE?

Our program offers 3 research tracks that include laboratory-based PK/PD assessments of antimicrobial resistance, ID clinical health outcome assessments, and a hybrid program that combines both tracks. Our program offers the ability to pursue graduate training (i.e., MPH, MSc, PhD) during the fellowship program tuition free.

What opportunities are there for RESEARCH and QUALITY IMPROVEMENT in your program?

Our program has opportunities to explore antimicrobial resistance and its impact on patient clinical outcomes. We have close affiliations with large academic medical centers giving us unique opportunities to collect important clinical translational research data on local, state and nationwide levels.

What QUALITIES are you looking for in a successful trainee?

Successful candidates have a passion for research and scientific curiosity. They tend to be hard working, confident in their abilities and willing to take on leadership opportunities.

What CAREER paths have past trainees pursued and how does your program support trainees in finding job opportunities?

Academia, public health, clinical and pharmaceutical industry.  Our program is primarily academic-based but offers public health, clinical and pharmaceutical industry experiences.

MAD-ID Training Program Highlight

This series highlights ID pharmacy training programs, including PGY2 ID residency and ID fellowship programs, who send trainees to the MAD-ID Annual Meeting. We provide an opportunity for program directors to give insights into their offerings that mean most to prospective trainees.
