Tell us about your PROGRAM
Baptist Health South Florida PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency is a 52-week pharmacy specialty-training program designed to establish a foundation of infectious diseases knowledge and to develop the skills necessary to deliver high-level clinical care. Through engagement with 11 hospitals, 2 cancer centers, and 100+ outpatient centers, this residency offers learners opportunity to understand the dynamic landscape of infectious diseases pharmacy.
What makes your program UNIQUE?
We have a large number of infectious diseases board certified preceptors, exposure to a variety of practice settings, and engagement with system-wide stewardship program.
What opportunities are there for RESEARCH and QUALITY IMPROVEMENT in your program?
We have research opportunities in the acute care and outpatient areas, many of our PGY1 and PGY2 projects in ID have been published and we are very engaged in scholarship as a residency program.
What QUALITIES are you looking for in a successful trainee?
We are seeking a resident who is curious, reliable, has a passion for infectious diseases, loves microbiology, enjoys patient care, and is a good communicator.
What CAREER paths have past trainees pursued and how does your program support trainees in finding job opportunities?
Past residents have become system-level stewardship pharmacists, infectious diseases pharmacists in large hospitals, and clinical transplant pharmacists in a large hospitals.
