Tell us about your PROGRAM
The Cleveland Clinic PGY-2 ID Pharmacy Residency is a one-year training program at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus. The residency is focused on direct patient care through ID Consult services and outpatient clinic, antimicrobial stewardship, practice management, and education.
What makes your program UNIQUE?
In addition to General ID and Immunocompromised ID consult services, Cleveland Clinic Main Campus offers dedicated ID consult services in the following sub-specialities: bone and joint infection, endocarditis, and neuro ID. In the ambulatory setting, the ID resident participates in pharmacist-run clinics focused on HIV PreExposure Prophylaxis, Travel Medicine, and Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy.
What opportunities are there for RESEARCH and QUALITY IMPROVEMENT in your program?
The resident will complete one research project and at least one quality assurance/quality improvement project. Resident research results are presented in poster format at the MAD-ID annual meeting.
What QUALITIES are you looking for in a successful trainee?
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about caring for patients with infectious diseases. Candidates/Trainees who are self motivated, engaged, and have strong communication and time management skills will succeed in our program.
What CAREER paths have past trainees pursued and how does your program support trainees in finding job opportunities?
Graduates of the PGY-2 ID Residency Program have attained positions in a variety of areas of ID practice in the inpatient, ambulatory, academic, and industry settings. Our trainees have up to 11 weeks of elective experience, making the residency customizable to the trainee’s career goals.
