Tell us about your PROGRAM
The goal of the 12-month program is to develop expertise in pharmaceutical, technological and stewardship activities within a 1,111-bed hospital that includes 206 Critical Care beds and practices in Bone Marrow and Organ Transplantation, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Primary emphasis is placed on the development of clinical practice skills through direct patient care and didactic learning. Teaching opportunities are available in conjunction with the University of Florida College of Pharmacy.
What makes your program UNIQUE?
This program values unique and diverse perspectives. Please know you will be welcomed, valued, and respected as part of our program.
What opportunities are there for RESEARCH and QUALITY IMPROVEMENT in your program?
A required project, which will directly affect Antimicrobial Stewardship activities and the practice of hospital pharmacy, will enable the resident to develop skills in clinical research, study design, and statistical analysis. Our residents are consistently successful in publishing in peer reviewed journals and national ID conference poster sessions.
What QUALITIES are you looking for in a successful trainee?
We are looking for a highly motivated, self-directed learner.
What CAREER paths have past trainees pursued and how does your program support trainees in finding job opportunities?
Most trainees leave our program to lead stewardship at academic hospitals or community hospitals.
MAD-ID Training Program Highlight
